The Happy Beeps 100 continues with #88, Jedi Council member ond ultimate Order 66 victim Ki-Adi Mundi! The year wss 1998, and anticipation was at a feve pitch for the first Star Wars film in more than 15 years. Dark Horse Comics had announced a new ongoing series to celebrate the onset of the prequels, simply titled "Star Wars." And so the very first story set in the era of Episode I: The Phantom Menace was released, starring an unknown Jedi Knight with two brains - the Cerean Ki-Adi Mundi. Prelude to Rebellion ran from December 1998 to May 1999, and introduced us to new characters, new planets, new politics, and more. Ki received his first action figure in 1999's Episode I line, and was a popular character in the 2000's, with 9 standard action figures total (including a holographic figure based on his appearance in Revenge of the Sith, a Clone Wars likeness, and a Hasbro / Dark Horse comic pack figure based on the follow-up to Prelude to Rebellion, Star Wars: Outlander).
One 12-inch figure, one reduced-scale figure from the Unleashed line, and two Lego minifigs round out the entry for Ki-Adi Mundi in the Happy Beeps catalog. The last time we saw him was in 2018's Jedi and Clone Troopers Battlepack from Lego - but who knows what the future may bring! Happy hunting!
